This project had two main goals: increase environmental knowledge and awareness, and engage community members in environmental issues and community planning of environmental projects. Community members learned how to build and maintain an ecostove, requiring them to organize as a group and work together in a team. Despite unexpected challenges, twenty community members completed an ecostove and learned to maintain it. With their new knowledge they can build more ecostoves and train others to use them.
